1. Frenchie To Go & Terroirs d’Avenir Block Party! June 9, 12pm-5pm

To welcome Frenchie To Go to the block, the Frenchie family and Terroirs d’Avenir are hosting a block party this Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. Rue du Nil is home to Frenchie, Frenchie Bar à Vins, Terroirs d’Avenir markets, and now Frenchie To Go- an airy, gastronomic take away spot serving American-style breakfast and the amazing pulled pork sandwich we all love at the wine bar every day from 8-4pm. FTG also has La Perle beer on tap and some affordable wines by the glass. They even make their own home-smoked bacon and homemade iced tea. I’m in love already!

2. The Fish Club is open!

This is the latest opening by the Experimental Cocktail Group- a tapas-style wine & cocktail bar inspired by South American flavours, as seen in their specialty- fresh tiradito. Tiradito is the cousin of sashimi, and the Tiradito Verde at The  Fish Club is killer. They also have Spanish classics like croquetas de jamon and papas fritas, plus some American classics like the lobster roll and crab cakes. Walk in and hope for a seat at the bar, or reserve a table upstairs, as this place is definitely going to be packed this weekend.

3. Yoga at Wanderlust

Before you head over to the Frenchie/Terroirs d’Avenir block party, start your Sunday with a yoga class on the deck of Wanderlust overlooking the Seine. Every Sunday morning at 11am Paris’ yogis gather for a bit of zen before the party starts at Wanderlust and lasts all through the night.

4. Must visit at the Marché aux Puces: L’Eclaireur Village Vintage and Ma Cocotte

The big antiques market to the North of Paris has two exciting additions as of late- This Saturday, June 8, L’Eclaireur will open “Village Vintage” there with a curated selection of vintage designer clothes as well as amazing vintage interior items.  While you’re there, check out the newest chic restaurant to install itself in the marché- Ma Cocotte designed by Philippe Starck. The big patio is perfect for enjoying lunch en terrasse.

5. Designer Days in Paris (Rive Gauche June 5-8, Rive Droite June 4-8)

Little art exhibits and designer showcases around Paris happening this weekend as part of the Designer Days initiative by the city of Paris. On both the left and right bank, keep your eyes out for the festivities, like round table discussions, open studios, tours and parties. Whether you stumble upon one or plan your tour with the help of the official D’Days mobile app, it’s definitely something fun to take part in!

6. The House that Jack Built Hosts “Jack’s Sunny Summertime Jumble Sale!!!” June 9, 12pm- 5pm

The summertime festivities are back in action at Wanderlust, where this weekend they’re hosting the release of party music compilation, Kitsuné America 2. Entry is free starting at 18h.

Also happening at Wanderlust is this exhibition, plus a screening of “Portrait d’une Enfant Eéchue” by Jerry Schatzberg, followed by a DJ set into the wee hours.

This saturday is also La Nuit Européene des Musées where museums around the continent will be staying open late and offering special concerts, expos, and soirées. Head to the event at the Palais de Tokyo. Starting at 20h, see inside hidden side of Paris’ modern art mecca. Throughout the night, regular expos will also be open, including Soleil Froid and N˚5 Culture Chanel.

While you’re at the Palais de Tokyo, check out their newest restaurant, Monsieur Bleu. Super hyped, this restaurant easily wins for having the best terrace view.

May is one of my favorite months, especially in Paris, since it means we have nearly one holiday from work a week and the weather has usually gotten over its winter tantrum (Sorry France, we just CANT have winter for twelve months of the year). (PS- as I am writing this, it’s raining and 50˚…so maybe I’m jumping the gun). On the first day of May, the French gift each other little white flowers called Muguet (Lily of the Valley). I love this tradition because I’ll never forget the first time I saw everyone walking around Paris with these dainty flowers on May 1- such a lovely sight.

May (usually) means springtime weather, picnics on the canal, asparagus is in season (hey, it’s the little things), and that we can finally, comfortably have apéro en terasse instead of huddled under the heaters and 12 layers of clothing. May is all about oysters and ceviche (seafood is hot in Paris right now), and juices and pop-ups.  In May, my wardrobe begins to resemble something other than a mob of dark neutrals, as does my makeup bag. Most of all, May means I get to spend more time on the back of this:

Dedicated to the whimsical filmmaker Jacques Demy (who often worked with the beautiful Catherine Deneuve), this exhibition will combine a series of videos, photographs, paintings, drawings and sculptures all created by the artist himself and artists who have inspired him- Jean Cocteau, David Hockney, Alexander Calder, Raoul Dufy, and Niki de Saint-Phalle.

As the Musée Galliera, Paris’ fashion museum, is undergoing renovations, they are hosting a series of off-site exhibitions like this one Models: The Body of Fashion. Hosted at Les Docks, the new design and cultural center on the East side of the left-bank, the exhibit presents over 100 images of fashion models from various mediums, combined with live mannequins in an effort to explore ideas of body, personality and artistic expression.
