In Paris, Merci means more than Thank You.
It is synonymous with the hippest, most eclectic, inviting concept store in the city. At Merci, in Paris’ 11th arrondisment, home to some of the hottest restaurants and bars and a very diverse crowd, you can find anything from gorgeous skin care, to affordable table wear, to investment items for your closet.
The shop isn’t just another multi-label boutique, but in fact, a concept store working for a cause. Owners Marie France and Bernard Cohen actually created the retail space as a way to generate sustainable donation funds for an endowment for underprivileged children in Madagascar, among other locations.Merci is a tri-level space dishing up special Annick Goutal fragrances, menswear like APC, womenswear like Isabel Marant, things for the home, jewelry, souvenirs, music, and movies. The space even hosts art installations regularly. Plus, there are a total of three cafés inside the shop. My favorite its the café where you are surrounded by used books- that are even for sale! It’s a homey, cozy, inspiring space for anything from a morning meeting to a quiet day to your self, or a little stop in between purchases.
Merci is a place you MUST experience while you are in Paris. I promise it will give you a bit of a fresh outlook on the city compared to any hoity-toity preconceptions you might have
