The Christian Louboutin Shoe Hospital

(One year ago) There I was, standing proudly in my first pair of red-soled beauties. It was a moment I had waited a long long time for, a milestone you could say. After visiting all three boutiques in the city, I finally found the perfect pair- the Décolleté in nude leather, a limited edition color/style combination that is so classically chic I could wear them with anything.

I’m not sure what it is about these high heels versus others I own, but every time I wear my Christian Louboutin pumps I feel like conquering the world. But little by little, each time I would wear them, a bit of red would wear off here, the heel would get scuffed there- I mean there are only so many nights out on the town or weddings a girl can go to while still trying to keep her precious Louboutins out of harm’s way!

So, what’s a girl to do when her little Loubs are in need of repair?

(Today) I paid a visit to the cordonnerie (cobbler) dedicated to fixing up those iconic red soles. Tucked away in the passageway where the Christian Louboutin flagship store is found, you’ll find a little shoe repair shop caled Minuit Moins 7 (7 minutes to midnight). What a charming name for a charming store! Like Cinderella herself would run there, glass slipper in hand, before the clock strikes midnight. Minuit Moins 7 is the only place in the world who will replace the authentic red soles back to mint condition.

With rows and rows of shoes neatly lined up ready to be repaired, the boutique is a true throwback to old Paris and its faithful artisans. I love the black and white tiled floors, the original wooden crown molding and antique cash desk. While it may take a couple of weeks to fix my shoes, their prices are totally reasonable and they’ll fix any shoe you have- not just Louboutins.
